Art in the Sunflowers - 9th August

Experience the joy of fields of sunflowers and see artists at work.

Set amongst the sunflowers, as you walk along the Sunflower Trail this Saturday, you’ll be able to see artists at work and be inspired and surprised by the variety of styles and colours. Art in Poundbury has joined with Maiden Castle Farm to provide a day of painting and competition for artists of all ages and abilities.

Easily accessible, the Sunflower Trail is walking distance from Poundbury ( for easy route please follow link below) and makes for a wonderful family outing. Children are especially encouraged to join in and express their natural creativity by borrowing one of the painting packs from the Sunshine Shack: these are available throughout the duration of the Sunflower Trail. A collection of sunflower inspired gifts and crafts are also available for sale.

Art in the Sunflowers is an engaging community event designed to celebrate creativity and the beauty of nature. By collaborating with The Dorset Sunflower Trail, it offers participating artists a unique backdrop of vibrant sunflowers to inspire artistic expression. Local volunteers and businesses make this happen with their generous gifts of time and prizes: special thanks to Art2Card, Rolls Landscaping, CG Fry and Morrish.

This delightful event features competitions for artists of all ages across various categories with fabulous prizes to be won. All profits support the Dorset County Hospital ‘Emergency and Critical Care Appeal’ and ‘Arts in Hospital’.
