Driving

Poundbury is unique in many ways in that the shared space design has few traditional road markings. Our community operates quite well with a courtesy-based driving approach though the Highway Code still applies, of course.

Cycling and Walking

Poundbury's network of paths and streets supports active travel throughout the community.
Cyclists can access National Cycle Route 2 and connect to the broader regional networks, while the Beryl Bikes scheme offers convenient bike sharing.

The pedestrian-friendly design features
connected pathways linking residential areas with shops, schools, and amenities, making
walking a practical daily choice. Wide pavements and considered crossing points ensure accessibility for all who live and work here.
