Beautiful Things. For Good.

Welcome to Poundbury Good Things – a volunteer-led project with three simple aims:

  • to celebrate Poundbury

  • to collaborate with local artists, makers and businesses

  • to raise funds for community initiatives

'We bring together art and community spirit through a developing collection of merchandise, available through local retail partners and at markets and events throughout the year.'

It’s all about good things, made or designed in Poundbury, for good causes.

Creative Inspiration

Our story began with a simple question: what makes Poundbury truly special? Visitors often mention the architecture, or Royal connections. But for those who live, work or volunteer here, Poundbury’s real charm lies in the warmth of its community spirit, its green spaces, and the centuries of heritage beneath our feet.

Our founding collection captured these themes through original artwork by artist Mary O'Flaherty – from the Royal Pavilion and Maiden Castle to Spirit, our leaping hare, inspired by a Roman brooch in the Dorset Museum collection.

Poundbury Good Things is now evolving. Our current range remains available while stocks last, and we're excited to be developing a refreshed collection inspired by many perspectives that make our community special, watch this space for more very soon.

The Poundbury Good Things Collection

Our collection began with bold, playful art inspired by the character and heritage of Poundbury itself — and it's now growing to reflect even more of the perspectives that make this community special.

Jigsaws

Our mini wooden jigsaws have a beautiful, tactile feel and feature the original Poundbury Good Things artwork. Each one is made for us by traditional Dorset puzzle makers,  Grovely using wood from sustainably managed forests. Look closely and you’ll even find a special piece shaped like Spirit, the Love Poundbury hare. Perfect to collect or to give as a thoughtful gift.

Landmarks of Poundbury

Our newest series, Landmarks of Poundbury, draws inspiration from some of Poundbury’s quieter, often overlooked corners. It celebrates the natural world and its smallest details — from insects and flowers to charming encounters between four-legged friends. These three new designs feature across our greetings cards and mini jigsaws, capturing all the warmth and whimsy that made our original design, Spirit in Bloom, so well loved.

Fundraising for the Pavilion in the Park (PiP)

Every purchase from Poundbury Good Things supports great things happening right here in our community.

Our current fundraising focus is the Pavilion in the Park (PiP) – Poundbury’s award-winning community hub, and home to a wonderful programme of activities for children, young people and those facing isolation or loneliness. The brilliant events and clubs at PiP are free and accessible to everyone, irrespective of age, income or ability.

Whilst Poundbury Good Things has only been trading since August 2025, we’ve already donated £1,000 from profits to PiP. We hope we’ll beat that total next year!

A candle, a card, a tote bag – they might seem like small things, but together they make a big difference. One good thing at a time, we can help our community thrive.
