Dorset Farmers' Market - Saturday 27 June

The popular Dorset Farmers' Market is back in Queen Mother Square, right in front of Waitrose, on Saturday 27 June, as it is every fourth Saturday of the month. If you haven't been before, this is one of Poundbury's best regular fixtures: some 40 local producers gathering in the heart of the square with a rotating lineup of Dorset's best seasonal produce.

There are a variety of stalls there. Among them Dorset Shellfish with crab, lobster and the day's catch, alongside Mere Trout. For something sweet, Lizzie Baking Bird brings beautiful pastries and breads, and Simply Cooking offers more delicious home-style fare. Meat lovers will appreciate Farm Girl Sausages and the wild venison from Taste of the Wild, while James's Cheese and The Jam Guy cover all things cheese and preserves. Round it off with a coffee from Fossil Coffee Co. and a beautiful bunch from Fedora Flowers: there's something for every kind of Saturday morning shop.

The Community Association of Poundbury will be there too, at their Love Poundbury stand, so if you've ever wondered what the Community Association does, this is your chance to ask. Whether you're curious about membership (it's free to join, with discounts at 17 local businesses and counting), keen to hear about volunteering opportunities, or simply want to find out more about what's happening in the community, come and say hello. The Love Poundbury stand will feature Poundbury Good Things, our lovely range of locally designed greetings cards, mini wooden jigsaws, ceramics, jewellery, and the ever-popular canvas shoppers and totes featuring Mary O'Flaherty's original designs inspired by Poundbury's landmarks and wildlife. Poundbury Good Things is the social enterprise run by the Community Association of Poundbury, celebrating local artists and makers while raising funds that go directly back into community initiatives. Every purchase helps support causes right here on our doorstep, so do stop by and see what's new.
