Brass Band carol concert - 16th December

Some of you may have seen a brass band playing carols outside Waitrose earlier this week. One of our volunteers spoke to the band and they kindly sent us more information!

Daytime Brass is a new Community Brass Band that was established on the 9th September this year to provide a daytime rehearsal (currently Tuesday afternoons) for any band members from across South West Dorset. We are currently based at The Durnovaria Silver Bands band hall, Kings Road, Dorchester DT1 1NJ

The aim of this community band was to provide free afternoon concerts to any who wish to hear us. From that, the idea of the Brass Cafe was formed to provide free afternoon concerts in a warm relaxed friendly environment, providing tea, coffee and cake, and have representatives from some outside agencies i.e. Age UK, Alzheimer's Society, Citizens Advice, Faith, WI, Men Shed, to enable any member of our audience to seek advice if required.

We will be carolling outside Waitrose in Poundbury on Tuesday 16th December from 2pm -3.45pm to raise much needed funds to support the Brass Cafe initiative.
