Health and Safety Policy
1. Purpose

This policy outlines the Community Association of Poundbury's (CAoP) commitment to ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of all members, volunteers, and visitors involved in its activities.
2. Scope

This policy applies to all activities organised by the CAoP, including events, meetings, and services provided.
3. Policy Statement
The CAoP is committed to:

Providing a safe environment for all its activities

Preventing accidents during its activities or activities in which it is involved, as much as is within the its power

Managing health and safety risks in its organisation
4. Responsibilities

The CAop Directors have overall responsibility for health and safety, led by the CAoP Health & Safety Officer

All members and volunteers have a duty to take care of their own health and safety and that of others
5. Risk Assessment
-
The CAoP Directors will conduct risk assessments for association activities as necessary, with standard assessments, for example for events such as general meetings and presence at fairs

These assessments will be reviewed annually or when the work activity changes
6. Training and Information

The CAoP will provide standard health and safety information to its volunteers, using the British Red Cross first aid training: https://www.redcross.org.uk/first-aid/learn-first-aid

Suitable safety information will be available to those involved or participating in CAoP activities, as deemed necessary
7. First Aid and Accident Reporting

The CAoP will maintain a first aid kit at all its events and activities

Accidents and incidents will be recorded and reviewed to prevent recurrence
8. Emergency Procedures

The CAoP will establish and communicate clear emergency procedures for its activities
9. Review

This policy will be reviewed biannually and updated as necessary
