Art in the Park at the Dorchester Kite Festival

The open air, mass participation event Art in the Park is back this month but with a difference. It's taking place alongside the Dorchester Kite Festival, so there will be lots more to capture in whatever medium you like.
Whether you are a professional artist, you fit art into your spare time or you haven't picked up a paintbrush in years, you are welcome to enjoy a day of creativity in the great outdoors. There are some desirable prizes on offer in multiple categories and of course the buzz that comes from taking time out to create something.

Art lovers are also welcome to tour The Great Field, to see what the artists are up to and admire the sheer variety of work.
To take part either register online or come to The Great Field on Saturday 6 June from 10 o'clock. The Art in Poundbury crew will be ready to welcome you in the red gazebos in the wildlife area behind the play park, just below Dukes Parade. Then it's a matter of finding a spot and capturing whatever interests you. At 3 o'clock everyone is welcome to gather by the gazebos to share their work. It's a great opportunity to admire the work being produced and meet other artists.
Pictures are submitted online by the following day so there is time to go home and apply the finishing touches, which is useful especially if the weather has not been ideal.

Our famous free art activities and a nature trail for everyone will be on offer for free including entry free entry into the competition for Under 18's. Otherwise, it's just £10 to take part and have a chance at winning some great prizes, including a £250 voucher for the Experienced category (and £150 for Enthusiast category).
