Bark in the Park & Paint in the Park – Almost Here!
After months of planning, organising and the tremendous support of local businesses, volunteers and our sponsors, we are delighted that the countdown is almost over for Love Poundbury's inaugural Bark in the Park and Paint in the Park.
Taking place on Sunday 23 August on the Great Field, this exciting two-in-one community event promises a wonderful day out for all the family, whether you have two legs or four!
Bark in the Park

Dog lovers are invited to enter one (or more!) of our six fun dog classes, with winners from each class going forward to compete for the coveted Best in Show title.
The classes have been designed to celebrate everything we love about our canine companions, and we're delighted that each class will be judged by one of our generous event sponsors. We are extremely grateful for their support, which has helped make this event possible. Rosettes, doggy goody bags and certificates are the rewards for the four legged winners.
Throughout the day there will also be demonstrations, exhibitors, artisan traders, refreshments, vintage vehicles, face painting, children’s inflatables a charity raffle with plenty of great prizes and activities for visitors to enjoy.
To avoid the queues early registration is available at:
Paint in the Park

Running alongside Bark in the Park is our brand-new Paint in the Park, inviting artists of all ages and abilities to capture the atmosphere of the day. Whether painting a favourite dog, the beautiful surroundings of Poundbury or the hustle and bustle of the event itself, artists will be competing for prizes in the categories of:
Best Pet Portrait
Best Scene of the Day
Junior Artist
We are honoured that respected local artist Olivia Willoughby has agreed to judge the competition. She is a very talented artist producing stunning commission pet portraits. She was just voted as the visitor’s choice for her amazing portrait of an orangutan at the Sherborne Open Art Exhibition. For the winner of the PET portrait they will be able to enjoy a one-to-one workshop and tutorial with Olivia. Winner of the Best scene will be rewarded with £100 of art materials vouchers. Best Junio artist (under 16) will win supply of art materials.
