The Duchess of Cornwall Inn in Poundbury played host to a wonderful evening of creativity and community spirit on Monday, June 8th, as winners and finalists of the "Through Your Lens" Love Poundbury Photography Competition gathered for the official awards presentation.

The event welcomed guests including the Mayor and Mayoress of Dorchester, who joined photographers, supporters, local residents, and sponsors in celebrating the talent and vision captured through the competition entries.
Awards were presented to winners and runners-up across the competition's four categories, together with recognition for four highly commended photographs that particularly impressed the judges. The competition showcased an inspiring collection of images reflecting the character, beauty, and everyday moments that make Poundbury and the surrounding area so unique.
Guests attending the evening enjoyed the opportunity to view the winning entries on display throughout The Duchess of Cornwall Inn, where the exhibition will continue until Sunday, June 21st. The exhibition offers visitors a chance not only to appreciate the remarkable standard of photography on show, but also to support an important local cause.
Selected images are available for purchase, with full proceeds going to The Lexi May Trust, helping the charity continue its valuable work for families with children suffering life threatening illness. Carly Hopkin founder of the Lexi May Trust informed the guests about the work of The Trust and presented the winner with The Lexi May Award for the photograph that they selected.
Visitors to the exhibition are also being encouraged to take part in a special prize draw by selecting the image that most "catches their eye". One lucky participant will win a luxury Poundbury "Good Things" hamper together with a local business voucher.
The evening highlighted not only the depth of photographic talent within the community, but also the strength of support for local charitable initiatives and the continued success of community-led events in Poundbury. This event will enable us to feature many of the images on the website, postcards and hopefully in several more ways promoting Poundbury.
The organisers would like to thank all photographers who entered, the sponsors and supporters of the event, and everyone who attended to help make the awards evening such a memorable occasion.
