Christmas Waste Collection Dates

The schedule for recycling and waste collection dates will change throughout the festive period, returning to normal from Monday 12 January. Additionally, there will be no garden waste collections from 25th December until 8th January.

On the first rubbish collection after Christmas Day, up to two extra sacks left beside your bin will be collected. Extra recycling, including glass and food waste will also be collected on your recycling collection day.

Dorset Council does not collect Christmas trees of any type through kerbside rubbish or recycling collections. Real trees can be home composted, cut up and put into garden waste bins, taken to a recycling centre or collection arranged through a variety of local charities.

Dorchester Household Recycling Centre at Louds Mill will be open as normal from 9am-4pm daily except for Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.
