Could You Help Keep Dorchester West Station Looking Its Best?

Councillor Frances Hogwood has asked us to share this appeal on behalf of the Friends of Dorchester West Station, a friendly group of volunteers who do a brilliant job keeping our local station clean, welcoming, and well looked after.

Working under the South Wessex Community Rail Partnership, the Friends regularly clear weeds, tend the planting areas and flower tubs, manage waste, and keep an eye on the station's general upkeep and passenger information. They typically meet on Friday mornings between 10am and 12 noon, though members are welcome to drop in when it suits them — it's a sociable and relaxed way to give something back to the community.

And right now, they need a few more pairs of hands.

If you enjoy being outdoors, don't mind a bit of weeding and planting, and like the idea of being part of a friendly group, this could be just the thing for you. Even an hour or two on a Friday morning would make a real difference.
