Passion Baked Into Every Loaf

Peppina's story began serendipitously, through a social connection at the Advanced Health Care Centre in what was once the Cereal Factory. With a vision of producing healthy, high-quality food in a health-focused space, the bakery quickly became a cherished addition to Poundbury.

At the heart of Peppina's success is a love for the art of baking. Here, patience isn't just a virtue; it's an ingredient. Every loaf of bread starts with fermented doughs that are given at least two days to rise, unlocking flavours and textures that can only come from time and care. The croissants are amazing, and did you know that the bakery is also open on Sundays, from 9am?

A Taste of Italy in Dorset

Inspired by Sicilian cuisine, Peppina's bread and pastries combine traditional recipes with the finest ingredients, some sourced from Italy and others grown locally. These ingredients come together to create delicious staples such as focaccia made with home-grown rosemary and pastries infused with the Italian flavours of pistachio, ricotta, and Sicilian lemons.

Peppina also recently introduced authentic gelato and granita to its menu. Granita, a dairy-free Sicilian treat, is like a creamy sorbet made with simple, pure ingredients—the Amarena (sour cherry) gelato, with its perfect balance of sweet and tart, has already won over many loyal customers.

More Reasons to Visit

There’s always something new happening at Peppina’s. Thursday evenings now feature fresh pasta offerings, and the menu boasts daily fresh salads that might soon become staples. The outdoor seating area, adorned with vibrant planters, is another highlight. These planters are lovingly cared for by local volunteers, Peppe and Valerie, who generously donate their time to keeping the space beautiful for the whole community—their efforts embody what community spirit is all about.

And this summer? Expect delightful surprises. While the details are under wraps, you can rest assured that Peppina's will continue to bring delicious moments to the community.

Experience the Warmth of Peppina’s

More than just a bakery, Peppina's is where people come together over good food and good conversation. Whether you're after tips on Italian recipes, curious about ingredients, or simply craving a chat, there's always a warm welcome waiting for you.
