If you’re still ticking off your Christmas list, the Dorset Farmers’ Market this Friday afternoon at Queen Mother Square is the perfect place to find thoughtful, last-minute gifts while soaking up a festive atmosphere right here in Poundbury.
The market is always a highlight of the local calendar, bringing together some of Dorset’s best producers and makers. Everything kicks off this Friday 19th December at 4pm, with fresh fish, veggies, cheese, bread, wine, beer and cakes all made, grown, fished, farmed, brewed or baked by the same person selling it to you. It’s a wonderful opportunity to support local businesses and buy gifts with a story behind them. Whether you’re looking for something delicious for the Christmas table or a unique present you won’t find on the high street, the market is full of inspiration.
Poundbury Good Things will be there too, with a stall full of Christmas cards and last-minute gift ideas. You’ll find a lovely selection including mugs, coasters, candles, bags and more—perfect for teachers’ presents, stocking fillers or those “just in case” gifts we all need at this time of year. Every purchase helps raise funds for community initiatives at the Pavilion in the Park, so your Christmas shopping will be doing good locally.

One of the joys of the Dorset Farmers’ Market is the chance to slow down and enjoy the experience. It’s not just about shopping—it’s about meeting the people who grow, bake, brew and create the things we buy, catching up with friends and neighbours, and enjoying the buzz of a Friday evening in the heart of the community.
With Christmas just around the corner, this is a great moment to shop locally, support community projects, and enjoy a festive evening out. Pop along to Queen Mother Square between 4pm and 7pm, browse the stalls, pick up a few special gifts, and say hello to the team from the Community Association of Poundbury, which brings you Poundbury Good Things —we’d love to see you.
