Five Sponsors, Five Perspectives: Perfect Partnerships

When we launched Love Poundbury Through Your Lens, we asked you to capture Poundbury through four distinct perspectives: Architecture & Urban Design, Landscapes & Natural Beauty, Community & Everyday Life, and Creative Perspectives. We've now added a fifth: the Youth Category for 16–18-year-olds.

What we didn't expect was how beautifully our sponsors would align with these very themes—each one bringing expertise that directly shapes what you're photographing.

Architecture & Urban Design: CG Fry & Son Builders

CG Fry & Son have been building Poundbury since the very beginning. The Georgian façades you're photographing, the stonework catching morning light, the archways framing your compositions—they were one of the builders. When you capture Poundbury's distinctive architecture, you're photographing decades of craftsmanship. Who better to sponsor this category than one the builders responsible for Poundbury's construction?

Landscapes & Natural Beauty: Rolls Landscaping

The Great Field where dog walkers gather at sunset, the mature trees lining the streets, the private gardens behind many houses—Rolls Landscaping has helped shape many green spaces for years. When you photograph Poundbury's natural beauty, you're seeing the results of work like theirs: the seasonal planting, the careful maintenance, the thoughtful design that weaves nature through urban spaces. Their sponsorship of this category feels exactly right.

Community & Everyday Life: The Duchess of Cornwall Inn

Where do people gather? Where do neighbours become friends? Where does community actually happen? The Duchess of Cornwall Inn on Queen Mother Square is part of the Hall & Woodhouse family, and sits right at the heart of Poundbury's social life. They're not just sponsoring the Community & Everyday Life category—they're also hosting our awards ceremony and exhibition, making their pub the place where we'll celebrate community together. It's community sponsoring community.

Minuteman Press near Victor Jackson Square is our major sponsor, and the connection to Creative Perspectives runs deep. They're taking your creative vision—your photograph on your phone or camera—and transforming it into high definition prints for our exhibition. They're printing all our promotional materials, creating customised canvas prizes for winners, and bringing the entire competition to life visually. They understand the creative process from concept to finished product, which makes them the ideal partner for celebrating creativity.

Youth Category (16–18): The Duchy of Cornwall

The Duchy of Cornwall's sponsorship of our new Youth Category carries special meaning. Poundbury exists because of the Duchy's vision—a vision that looks generations ahead, thinking about how we build places that endure and evolve. Supporting young photographers to capture their perspective on Poundbury is all about that: investing in the next generation's relationship with this special place. These young people will shape Poundbury's future just as surely as the Duchy shaped its present. What better sponsor for youth creativity than those who imagined Poundbury in the first place?

Why This Matters

Our sponsors aren't just writing cheques—their daily work directly shapes what makes Poundbury worth photographing. They build it, landscape it, gather people within it, help us see it creatively, and invest in its future. Their support means Love Poundbury Through Your Lens can celebrate this place properly, with professional quality throughout and opportunities for photographers of all ages.

We're deeply grateful to CG Fry & Son, Rolls Landscaping, The Duchess of Cornwall Inn, Minuteman Press Poundbury, and the Duchy of Cornwall for making this competition possible. When you enter your photographs—whether you're 16 or 116— we and our sponsors will celebrate Poundbury through your eyes!
