Help Shape Research on Community & Placemaking in Poundbury

We're pleased to support Bethany Fear, a University of Nottingham student, with her research exploring how contemporary UK communities like ours experience density, placemaking, and community life.

She is keen to hear directly from Poundbury residents about your perspectives and experiences of living here, especially in view of the BBC news article about Poundbury that appeared on BBC South on Monday last. This is an opportunity for our community to contribute to academic research that examines the gap between design intentions and the reality of how we live in and shape our neighbourhoods.

The survey takes just 5 minutes and there are no right or wrong answers – Bethany simply wants to hear your honest insights.

When: Bethany would appreciate responses by Monday 5th January 2026 if possible, though the survey will remain open until Jan 12th.

She has kindly offered to share the research findings with us once her study is completed at the end of January – we're looking forward to seeing what the results reveal about life in Poundbury!
