We’re lighting the way with something beautifully local! As part of our Poundbury Good Things initiative, we’re thrilled to introduce a very special collaboration with Poundbury’s own artisan makers The Rhubarb Candle Company.
Launching on Saturday 2nd August at the Dorset Food & Arts Festival, this limited-edition candle is more than just a beautifully scented gift — it’s a love letter to Poundbury itself.
Renamed Love Poundbury specially for us, this hand-poured soy candle is a new take on The Rhubarb Candle Company’s popular The Poundbury fragrance. Inspired by wildflowers from The Great Field and the gardens that dot our town, the scent evokes a fresh, floral essence that’s uniquely local. For this pilot release, each candle also bears our brand-new Poundbury Good Things logo of ‘Spirit’ the hare — a mark of community pride and a shared commitment to supporting local craftsmanship.
We’re launching the candle from the #LovePoundbury gazebo at the Dorset Food & Arts Festival, which champions the best of Dorset food, drink, art, craft, and community talent. We warmly invite you to come along, take a closer look, and — most importantly — tell us what you think. Your feedback will help shape the future of Poundbury Good Things as we explore how best to support and showcase our home’s creativity and spirit.
Celebrating and supporting local makers is a core aim of the Poundbury Good Things initiative. That’s why working with Jenny and Andy Welham of the Rhubarb Candle Company has been such a joy. Their small-batch candle business, based right here in Canford Street, Crown Square, reflects the same care, creativity, and commitment to quality that Poundbury Good Things aspires to.
