Next Chapter in Our Collaboration with Potter Liz Kerslake

We’re delighted to share that our collaboration with Bradford Peverell-based potter Liz Kerslake is moving into its next exciting stage. Following the wonderful response to her ceramics at last month’s Dorset Farmers Market — which sold out within just a couple of hours — Liz is now making for Poundbury Good Things her much-loved hand-thrown mugs, each finished in her signature Blue Rutile glaze.

What makes this edition particularly special is the addition of a bespoke “Spirit the Hare” charm, designed exclusively for Poundbury Good Things. This beautiful detail brings together Liz’s craftsmanship with the popular motif created by Poundbury artist Mary O’Flaherty, continuing our celebration of local creativity and collaboration.

Reflecting on this new stage of the partnership, Liz said:

“It’s such a pleasure to create these mugs for Poundbury Good Things. The Blue Rutile glaze has always been a favourite of mine — it breaks so beautifully over the surface, giving each piece its own character. Adding the Spirit charm makes them even more personal, tying together the stories of local makers and community.”

As always, Liz’s mugs are a perfect blend of beauty and practicality — dishwasher and microwave safe, they make wonderful, long-lasting Christmas gifts. Each one brings a touch of Dorset craftsmanship to the everyday, whether enjoyed with morning coffee or an evening hot chocolate.

After the huge popularity of Liz’s earlier work, we’re also thrilled to say that she’ll be making more of the “Love Poundbury” coasters and garlic graters that disappeared so quickly at the last market. These instantly became real favourites among our customers, and we can’t wait to have them back on our stall.

You’ll be able to find the new mugs and the rest of the Poundbury Good Things range at the Dorset Farmers Market on Queen Mother Square, Saturday 22nd November from 9am–1pm.

Our continuing partnership embodies everything Poundbury Good Things stands for: celebrating local talent, supporting Dorset makers, and offering unique gifts that give back to our community. Every purchase helps fund the award-winning community programmes run from the Pavilion in the Park, from children’s activities and youth engagement to projects supporting those facing isolation and loneliness.
