The countdown to Christmas is officially on — and we’re thrilled to share that Poundbury Good Things will be part of this year’s Poundbury Christmas Market, taking place in Crown Square on Saturday 29th November, from 10am to 4pm.
Poundbury Good Things only launched in April this year, so this will be our first Christmas Market — and we can’t wait to join in the festive fun!
Our stall will be packed with beautiful things that celebrate the place we call home: from stunning new ceramics by local maker Liz Kerslake, to cards, prints, bags and gifts featuring the much-loved artwork of Poundbury resident, volunteer and artist Mary O’Flaherty.
It’s a wonderful opportunity to pick up something special for family and friends — or even treat yourself to a little Poundbury magic.
The Poundbury Christmas Market has become one of Dorset’s most anticipated festive events. First held in 2015 at the Buttermarket, it moved to its larger home in Crown Square in 2022. The market champions small businesses from across Dorset, Somerset and Hampshire, and always coincides with Small Business Saturday, a national day celebrating independent enterprise.
Last year saw over 100 small businesses bring their products and festive cheer to Poundbury, and this year promises to be just as magical. The market remains a non-profit event, with all proceeds from pitch fees reinvested into running costs— ensuring it continues to thrive year after year.
Christmas Market organiser Charlotte Jackson is delighted to be hosting the 4th Crown Square Christmas market once again this year: “It's such a pleasure to put on this incredible event to support so many small businesses and the Poundbury business community. We couldn't do this without the support of the Duchy and local community. Hopefully we will see you on Saturday!”

Christmas is all about giving — and that’s exactly what Poundbury Good Things is about too. Every time someone buys from us, they’re helping fund the wonderful community work at Pavilion in the Park. It’s the ‘Good’ in Poundbury Good Things, and why we’re so passionate about what we do.
Poundbury Good Things was created with three simple aims at its heart: to celebrate Poundbury; support local artists and makers; and raise money for local community causes. Every purchase helps fund programmes for children and young people, as well as activities that tackle isolation among older residents — all hosted at the Pavilion in the Park.
Charlotte has also reminded us that Crown Square annual “Light Switch On” is Friday 28th November at 6.15-6.45pm, when both Poundbury schools will be joining us to help turn on the Christmas tree lights and officially start Christmas in Poundbury.

So, wrap up warm, grab a hot chocolate, and join us for a festive day of shopping, community and cheer. We can’t wait to see you there!
