Supporting Health and Wellbeing in Our Community

This spring, two great initiatives are promoting health and wellbeing, offering valuable resources and opportunities to lead healthier lives.

The Take 5 to Age Well campaign, launched by The Open University and Age UK, encourages small daily actions to support healthy ageing. With five focuses—Eating, Drinking, Moving, Connecting, and Engaging the Mind—this free campaign invites participants to commit to 30 days of simple yet impactful habits. You can sign up online and join a growing community dedicated to ageing well. Local groups and organisations are also invited by Active Dorset to get involved by sharing their own health-supportive activities.

Meanwhile, the Our Dorset Women’s Health initiative provides a comprehensive online resource to promote women’s wellbeing. Covering topics such as breast health, menopause, mental health, and fertility, the platform includes advice, services, and personal stories to help women make informed choices about their health. Importantly, it acknowledges the diverse needs of all individuals who may benefit from these resources.

These initiatives remind us that small steps can lead to big improvements in how we feel, age, and connect. Whether it’s trying a new habit or engaging with local health services, there’s something for everyone to help make wellbeing a community priority.
