Fancy stepping back in time for a day? Dorchester Town Council and the Thomas Hardy Society are looking for volunteers to help bring seven traditional Victorian sideshow stalls to life at the Thomas Hardy Victorian Street Fair on Sunday 31 May—it sounds like a brilliant day out!

The fair celebrates Thomas Hardy's 179th birthday with a packed programme across High West Street and High East Street: Morris dancers, a Punch and Judy show, costumed actors, a Victorian traction engine, live music, and much more. And right in the thick of it, seven classic fairground stalls such as Hook a Duck, Splat the Rat, Tin Can Alley, the High Striker, all free for the public to have a go, and all needing a friendly face to welcome people and keep things running.
Ten volunteers are needed in total, to be available 11am–4pm on South Street, with regular breaks and free refreshments throughout. No experience required, just enthusiasm and a willingness to have fun.

If you're interested, please contact Matilda Manley at Dorchester Town Council directly: m.manley@dorchester-tc.gov.uk or call 01305 249093 / 07983 897051.
