18 Reasons to Join Us: CAofP Membership Just Got Even Better
Updated: 4 hours ago
When the Community Association of Poundbury launched just over a year ago, we had five local businesses offering discounts to members. This week, with the arrival of Brace of Butchers as our newest partner, that number reaches eighteen. We hope you'll agree that's not bad for a community association run entirely by volunteers.

Although we always welcome donations, Love Poundbury membership is free to join, and it now unlocks discounts and benefits across eighteen local businesses, from food and drink, to health and wellbeing, to more practical matters that too.
What's new: Brace of Butchers joins the family
As you'll read in this week's companion story, Brace of Butchers has been part of Poundbury since the beginning, opened at the encouragement of King Charles, then Prince of Wales, and built over twelve years into one of the finest independent butchers and delis in the area. From January through to November, CAofP members now receive 10% off everything in the shop, plus regular seasonal offers. More details in our Brace of Butchers story and on the Member Benefits page.
The full eighteen, across every corner of life in Poundbury
The range of what's on offer has grown to cover a genuinely useful sweep of daily life:
Health and wellbeing: 25% off a new patient appointment at Casterbridge Chiropractic, 10% at Friths Opticians, 10% off services and events at the Wellbeing Practice.
Home and garden: 10% at Dovecote Trading Company (plus their VIP loyalty scheme), 10% off furniture at Interior Tailors, seasonal offers at Poundbury Gardens, 10% at Rugs of Dorset, and £50 off quotations over £500 at Upcycle Interiors.
Treating yourself: 10% at Brace of Butchers (Jan–Nov), 15% off food and drink at the Duchess of Cornwall Inn (Mon–Thu, T&Cs), 10% on Thursdays at Monart Spa, and 10% off selected items at the Florist of Poundbury.
Practical life: 25% off sales and lettings fees at Hull Gregson Hull, £100 off mortgage broker fees at Igloo Mortgage, 10% on services over £20 at MCS Laundry, and 30% off at Plumbstop.
Special occasions: 10% at Bridal Reloved and 5% with makeup artist Kirsten Sare.
But membership is about more than discounts
The discounts are a tangible benefit, but they're not really the point. Membership connects you to a community of almost 900 members and growing, a weekly newsletter read by over 1,400 people, a Virtual Community Hub with nearly 3,000 visits a month, and a voice at our general meetings and stakeholder Q&A sessions. Members also get first access to exclusive events as we develop our programme.
And if you'd like to support what we do, a voluntary donation of £5, £10, or £20 a year makes a real difference: keeping the website and newsletter running, funding the photography competition and Q&A research, and helping launch new initiatives like the Good Neighbours Programme.
