A New Chapter for Poundbury Good Things

Poundbury Good Things is entering an exciting new chapter—and it starts with a very warm welcome to David Kingman, who has taken on the role of 'Good Things' lead.

If David's name sounds familiar, it's because he is already woven into the fabric of Poundbury's creative life. A resident for more than eight years, David shares his home with partner Richard and their two dogs, Milo and Darcey. Through his Art at the Duchess series at the Duchess of Cornwall Inn—now in its sixth year—he's introduced locals and visitors to emerging artists over a pint, with the support of Hall & Woodhouse. It was David who first brought photography and community together through Love Poundbury Through Your Lens, the competition that will be running again in 2027. And he organised the wonderfully successful Bark in the Park too, all for the benefit of the Lexi May Trust. We're really pleased, and genuinely lucky, to have someone with his creativity, energy and community spirit steering 'Good Things' forward.

Of course, 'Good Things' has always been a team effort, and that doesn't change. David leads a small and dedicated crew of volunteers—Antonia, Sue, Abi and, joining most recently, Tina—all giving their time to bring a little bit of Poundbury to people's homes.

Something new from Poundbury

Our growing collection now brings together photography, illustration and original designs inspired by Poundbury in all its different forms.

Our Love Poundbury 2027 Calendar brings together a selection of wonderful images from the Through Your Lens competition: Poundbury, captured through the eyes of the people who know and love it best. This will be available to buy at the Love Poundbury stall at the Dorset Farmers Market in Queen Mother Square on Saturday 26 September.

The 'Good Things' team is also working on a new collection of traditional Christmas cards, featuring familiar local scenes transformed for the festive season. And we are very excited about The Poundbury Adventure, a brand-new colouring book created for adventurous young children. It turns familiar Poundbury scenes into an adventure to colour and explore, with pictures to complete, things to find, and fun facts to discover along the way. It's a lovely way for younger residents and visitors to get to know the town. These items will be available very soon.

There's more on the way, so please keep an eye out for Poundbury mugs and tea towels in November, featuring a new series of designs celebrating some of the town's best-known landmarks. Our original collection remains available too, while stocks last.

Made for Poundbury, giving back to Poundbury

'Good Things' is run entirely by volunteers, and every penny of profit goes back into supporting local good causes, most recently the Pavilion in the Park. So whether you choose a calendar, a Christmas card, a colouring book or one of our new products, you won't just be taking home a little piece of Poundbury, you'll be helping us give something back too.
