Winter Sunday Bus Route Through Poundbury Now Finalised

If you've spotted variations in the Number 10's Sunday route over recent weeks, here's why—and what's been confirmed for the winter period.

Route Confirmation
First Bus has finalised the winter Sunday schedule for the Number 10 service through Poundbury. Here's how it will operate:
Departing from Mansell Square, the bus heads up Middle Farm Way towards the Mey House roundabout before returning via Peverell Avenue West and East. Passengers can board at stops on the northern side only, including the stop near Queen Mother Square outside Bowes Lyon House, before the service continues back to Mansell Square and onward through Dorchester to Weymouth.
Sunday services now run every 20 minutes throughout the day.
Filling the Gap
This enhanced winter provision addresses the Sunday service gap left by two routes that don't operate year-round: the X51 (summer-only) and the Number 6 (which doesn't run on Sundays at any time of year).
As we reported previously (see our earlier story here), the improved Sunday Number 10 schedule brings regular bus connections right into central Poundbury when other services aren't available—a welcome development following community advocacy by local transport groups.
The consistent route should now make Sunday travel planning more straightforward for residents.
