Our First Annual General Meeting — 21 May, Damers Hall

Just over a year ago, the community of Poundbury voted to build something new. On Thursday 21 May, 6–8pm at Damers Hall, members of the Community Association of Poundbury will gather for our first Annual General Meeting—a chance to celebrate what we've built together, hear directly from your CAofP board, and help shape what comes next.

What to expect on the night

The evening opens at 5:45pm with Poundbury Good Things on sale and an opportunity to catch up with friends and neighbours before we get started. We'll then take members through the highlights of our first full year—the milestones, the numbers, and the stories behind them—followed by a financial summary presented by our Treasurer, Adele Brothwell.

The formal AGM business includes a members' vote to confirm two directors who joined the board mid-year: Sue Cooke, who oversees our procedures, noticeboards and membership, and Jerry Cooke, our CIC Secretary and newsletter stalwart. Both have been invaluable to CAofP, and we're delighted to bring their appointment to members for formal confirmation.

After a break with table discussions and volunteer sign-ups, the evening's centrepiece takes over: our Stakeholder Q&A Panel, moderated by Tim Wilmot, giving the community a direct conversation with representatives from Dorset Council, Dorchester Town Council, the Duchy of Cornwall, local police, local businesses and community organisations. And we'll round off the evening with a lovely Poundbury Good Things raffle.

Have a question for the panel?

The Q&A is open to questions from the whole Poundbury community. Please send your questions to chair@lovepoundbury.org by Monday 12 May and we'll consolidate them for the panel. Any questions we can't reach on the night will be answered and then published on the Virtual Community Hub in due course as far as is feasible.

Spaces are very limited

The AGM is open to CAofP members only, and places are limited by the size of the hall, so please don't delay. Register for your free ticket here.

Not yet a member? Membership is free and open to everyone who lives, works or volunteers in Poundbury. Join today and you'll be eligible to attend—and to vote.

Can't make it on the night?

We know not everyone can join us in the evening. For those who can't attend, we'll be hosting a members' afternoon tea in early June where we'll share the highlights—details coming soon.
