If you're one of the many people who regularly check Poundbury's community noticeboards, you already know how useful they are. If you haven't discovered them yet, here's what you're missing.
Eight Boards Across Poundbury
You'll find community noticeboards at Queen Mother Square, Buttermarket, Crown Square, Victor Jackson Square, Pummery Square, Bridport Road, Longmoor Street, and Peverell Avenue West. Each one is managed by the Community Association of Poundbury and updated weekly by volunteers, weather permitting.
The boards share information relevant to our community: local events (markets, fairs, workshops, exhibitions), community initiatives (volunteer opportunities, local groups, neighbourhood projects), services by local businesses, and public announcements. You might discover an art workshop, learn about a community litter pick, or find a local business offering exactly the service you need.

Posting a Notice
If you're organising something local or offering a service that would benefit Poundbury residents, you can submit a notice like this:
Email noticeboards@lovepoundbury.org (or post to CAofP CIC, c/o Pavilion in the Park, St John Way, Poundbury, DT1 2FG)
Allow 3 weeks before you need it displayed
Keep it to A5 size if possible (A4 can be displayed but space isn't guaranteed)
Include your contact details
Cost:
Free for non-profit community events, initiatives, and CAofP member businesses
£5 per month for for-profit businesses (that's £1 per board for the five large boards—excellent value for local reach)
All fees support board maintenance and CAofP community initiatives.
Why Physical Noticeboards Still Matter
In an age where everything happens online, physical noticeboards reach people who aren't on social media, catch those who don't check emails constantly, and create lovely serendipitous moments - discovering a community choir starting up or local piano lessons while walking to the shops.
Whether you're organising something wonderful or simply stopping to see what's on, these boards are here for the community. Three weeks' lead time, a quick email, and you're reaching hundreds of people.
That's community in action.
